I particularly liked Kuya Victor who taught me on Saturday. He just talks a lot. He started of with too much spoon-feeding which is good because I have no idea on the best timing to change from one pedal to the next, shifting gear up or down. You just have to listen, absorb, and just do what he says. He then allows me to fend on my own towards the end of the 2 hours. Occassionally reminding me of things such as that I need to shift a gear down. And to slow down. C’mon! 40kph is slow. I got too much of slowing down that I find myself actually maintaining that speed in the evening when we drove to some far flung place within the metro where my friend will be celebrating her birthday. )

In all, its ok. I just need to do more actual driving. And a little more coaching from Papa-yo and brother-yo.

Or maybe I could convince then to lend me their car every now and then. :p

So I got on a jeepney, it may be an ok distance to walk but with the heat of the afternoon sun, I may have died of dehydration after walking just a block from Crossing. I got there in less than 5 minutes and was unsurprised that their doors were bolted shut. I would’ve just rode a jeepney back right away but since I’m not rushing to meet any schedule, hang out a bit and just took note of the phone numbers. Lucky me, people from the driving school saw me, informed me that their office was indeed closed on a Sunday but nevertheless welcomed me in to give me their brochure and entertain my few inquiries. This guy asked me what my background on driving is and after telling him so, he recommended that I’ll just go for the 5-hour refresher’s course (it costs Php2,5) and just add 5 more hours if I think it was not enough. I’ve decided to do just that and I’ll be enrolling this afternoon after work.

I’ve been planning for months and months to enroll myself to a driving school. It’s a good time to do just that since Papa will probably not go back to driving anytime soon. I hope I get the hang of it right away. It will be a great if we have one more in the family who can drive manual especially now my tweener brother’s on summer break and have his occassional malling with friends from far flung places of Metro Manila.
