I just glanced at the wall clock and did a double take on my laptop’s time – I can’t believe it’s past 11PM already and I’m still online! I don’t know why, but it alarms me when I feel like I’m getting too addicted with anything.

Back when Friendster was new and in its hay days, I found myself spending too much time checking contacts’ profile. So what did I do? I quitted cold turkey and deleted my account. I know, I know. That was kind of OA but anyway… Same thing with RO and The Sims, I stopped playing them suddenly even on the height of my addiction. I amuse myself that I could be capable of that; I mean, letting go so suddenly, not even gradually, but suddenly, even if I’m still too dependent on them. Yes, of course, I was so tempted to get a taste of it again but I resist. Hindi na kasi healthy.

So I’ve decided, for the following week, I’m going to purge myself from my daily online addiction. Hey, weekdays lang, ha? Monday to Friday lang. Gradually this time. Maybe next time, I can go on including my weekends.

So, lets see:

1. No more twittering.
2. No facebook visits. Yes, even RC. (Oh I shudder to think how many more contacts’ll overtake my rank!)
3. No more checking of my personal blog stuff.
4. No checking out of multiply inbox updates. I’ll only be logging in straight to my multiply page to add my pic per day pictures.
5. No yahoo mail checking. Yep, yahoo mail lang but I’ll be checking my gmail once per day.
6. No sigining in to my personal ym; Only my dedicated office ym account.
7. And I’ll turn of my mobile phone as soon as I step in the office turning it on only an hour during lunch and again an hour before I leave work and onwards.

I’m going on an online hiatus! Well, somewhat on a hiatus, I can’t totally because I need to be online due to work related research.

Say you guys will miss me. Coz I’m sure I will. Be back next weekend!
